Dow Chemical and railway operator Union Pacific released a report detailing the progress of a 2007 partnership to improve eight areas in the chemical industry supply chain. The report includes an update on the Next Generation Rail Tank Car Project, noting that last year 11 chlorine tank cars were given the green light for service. "Through this collaborative effort, a breakthrough approach to rail car design was created that increases safety and security in moving vital chemicals to facilities that produce pharmaceuticals, clean water and many other products," said David Kepler, chief sustainability officer at Dow.
