An Ohio law that lets oil and natural gas firms keep hydraulic fracturing chemicals confidential is in violation of federal rules, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The federal Right-to-Know Act supersedes state law, EPA noted. Oil and gas firms in Ohio will be notified "to make sure everyone is in compliance with their reporting obligations under state and federal law," said Chris Abbruzzese, spokesman for Ohio's EPA.
