The catastrophe-bond market is changing because of factors such as rising volume, with the market shifting toward bonds that rely on indemnity triggers, according to experts. "Post-Hurricane Katrina, the market was very focused on plain vanilla structures and index-based transactions, but over time we have seen that investors have gotten more comfortable with more complex trigger structures," said Markus Schmutz of Swiss Re Capital Markets.
