ExxonMobil Chemical is working with nine Houston-area organizations and educational institutions to boost training and recruitment for petrochemical jobs. "There are literally thousands of new jobs coming to the Houston area and across the Gulf Coast being created because of what I think of as a tidal wave of new investment created for the chemical industry," said Steve Pryor, president of the company's chemical division. The American Chemistry Council has estimated new chemical projects will create up to 46,000 permanent jobs in the industry.
