Facebook is getting a file-sharing application this week that can handle files much larger than those allowed by most e-mail systems. The tool, Pipe, will allow Facebook contacts to transfer files of up to 1 gigabyte through a drag-and-drop interface, even if the recipient isn't online. "We have taken a function such as attaching a file and turned it into something anyone can use -- without ever leaving Facebook," says Pipe's Simon Howell.
