Legislators asked the Obama administration Friday to clamp down on the abuse of prescription treatments without blocking the access of legitimate patients to pain relief. Lawmakers also asked for tougher governmental control on hydrocodone treatments, moving them from Schedule III to Schedule II. "This change is needed to adequately reflect the potential risk these drugs pose to public health," said Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill.
