Landscaping that can protect homes from wildfires has been installed at the Hellman fire station in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. The landscape includes mulch, stones and low-growing native plants to demonstrate fire-resistant options for residents. "This will help homeowners better defend themselves and help us to defend them should a fire burn through the area like it did in 2003 during the Grand Prix fire," said Fire Chief Mike Bell.
