German unemployment is down by 12,000 this month from May and the jobless rate is holding steady at 6.8%, indicating a robust economy within a eurozone still mired in recession. "With yesterday's strong consumer confidence and today's good labor market report, domestic demand should continue to be an important growth driver this year," said ING Bank economist Carsten Brzeski.
