The Global 450 Consortium, established in 2011 to coordinate the semiconductor industry's transition to manufacturing on 450-millimeter wafers, is drawing semiconductor equipment suppliers to set up operations near the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany, N.Y. Those suppliers have set up a related group, the Facilities 450 Consortium, to develop standards for constructing and equipping 450-millimeter wafer fabrication facilities.
