The location-based services industry could grow by $2 billion to $5 billion in India by 2016 and bring as much as 20% more revenue to the telecommunications industry, the Cellular Operators Association of India said. That growth is dependent on new infrastructure and adoption by mobile services, COAI's Rajan Mathews said, and added one of the main obstacles is a lack of logistical specialists in the location-based services field.
