An investigation of digital advertising publishers commissioned by Adweek revealed six companies that experts believe are bolstering traffic numbers with fake impressions or non-user-initiated traffic such as pop-ups. The report listed AdOn, Adknowledge, eZanga, Jema Media, MGID and BlueLink Marketing. "For most advertisers, this isn't what they're looking for. It's the very opposite of targeted traffic," said Harvard Business School professor Ben Edelman.
