Louisiana students who attend a school without an advanced math course may have more flexibility in taking that class at another high school, under a program known as Course Choice. The state Board of Elementary and Secondary Education will consider state Superintendent John White's proposal to take about $2 million from another program to fund Course Choice as a pilot. Meanwhile, about 450 students have registered for courses, most seeking algebra I and AP classes that are unavailable at their schools.
