Spectrum in the 1755-1780 MHz band must be cleared as soon as possible, Steve Largent, the president of CTIA-The Wireless Association, argued in a blog post, adding that government regulators must act quickly so that they can auction off the band along with spectrum in the 2155-2180 MHz range known as the AWS-3 band. "Pairing these bands would provide a vital tool for meeting demand for mobile broadband, facilitate faster deployment of innovative services, provide consistency with international allocation of the band ... and maximize efficient use of the spectrum," Largent wrote.
