Bite-size candy sales have seen 40% growth in the past four years due to consumers opting to stay home for their entertainment, and confectioner Mars is capitalizing on that growth with the launch of its new bite-size sharing packages of Mars Mix and Twix Mix. "They [share bags] have been doing very well in the U.K and U.S. Specifically last year because of the Olympics and the Queen's Jubilee," said Francisco Redruello, senior food analyst at Euromonitor. The share bag format market value has grown 1% from 2011 to 2012, according to Euromonitor, and a bite-size packaged product won NCA's award for the most innovative product at its Sweets & Snacks Expo last month.
