After a disappointing trip last year to the Chesapeake Bay, where students saw more dead oysters than live ones, students at Dunloggin Middle School in Elliott City, Md., this year raised oysters and released 750 of them into the bay as part of a service-learning project. Students built four cages, placed the cages with baby oysters at a marina, and regularly cleaned and cared for them on weekends.
