In an effort to ensure the quality of milk produced in China, Nestle is working to promote the consolidation of the country's dairy farms, a move it believes will result in more consistent quality and purity of the milk. And it's developing a training institute to promote education and development on Chinese dairy farms. Nestle has a large stake in the efforts -- though it uses imported milk powder for baby formula in China, it uses locally produced milk for other dairy products.
