Data on 5,991 middle-aged and older participants showed those with diabetes had the highest prevalence of comorbidities and physical function limitations, while those with prediabetes had a higher risk of functional limitations that influence mobility and the lower and upper extremities compared with their normoglycemic counterparts. "Effective lifestyle interventions to prevent diabetes must accommodate physical function limitations," researchers noted in Diabetes Care.
