U.S. Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., represents a Long Island congressional district that long was solidly Republican, white and middle class. When district boundaries were revised to reflect new census data, he ended up with a district that is increasingly Democratic, one-third minority and has pockets of poverty. "I'm not kidding myself," King said. "I know there's many people here who didn't vote for me, who won't vote for me."
