Terminally ill patients who died in 2010 were less likely to receive aggressive treatments or be hospitalized and were more likely to be in hospice during their final six months of life, compared with those who died in 2007, a Dartmouth Atlas report found. Data showed a slight decrease in episodes of terminal care in an intensive care unit, from 17.6% in 2007 to 16.7% in 2010.
