Context is king in Facebook advertising, according to a study by Salesforce Social.com. Sponsored place check-in stories, page post "like" stories and page post action stories garnered average click-thru rates as high as 3.2%, making them costly but cost-effective. By industry, telecommunications, general retail, and health and beauty sectors paid the highest average cost per "like" on the network, with food and beverage and nonprofits paying the least for love.
