A survey of almost 10,000 employees at 1,308 work sites found 70% said wellness programs have a positive influence in the culture at work, but only 25.8% of employers surveyed said they plan to use wellness provisions in the Affordable Care Act to improve health benefits. The survey by Virgin HealthMiles and Workforce magazine also showed 78.2% of employees are motivated to participate in wellness programs to improve their health but 61.4% also cite incentives as a key factor.
