Executives from US-based retailers Kroger, Costco, Walgreen and Home Depot are on the invitation list for a meeting this week with India's Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, who is expected to clarify rules on foreign direct investment for retailers. German retailers Schwarz and ALDI were already invited to the event, which comes nine months after new investment rules took effect that allow foreign multi-brand retailers to own up to 51% of their operations.
