The construction sector added 13,000 jobs in June -- the most in three months, according to today's report from the Labor Department. The total number of nonfarm jobs added in June was 195,000, and May's number was revised up to 195,000 from 175,000. The June unemployment rate was 7.6%, unchanged from a month earlier. However, CNBC reports that if discouraged job seekers and the underemployed were added to the unemployment number, it would rise to 14.3%.
