Airlines for America is warning the government in the Bahamas that higher taxes could reduce U.S. airline service. “Higher taxes will not encourage A4A members to grow their service to the islands," wrote Keith Glatz, A4A’s vice president of international affairs, in a letter to the Bahamas' comptroller of customs. "The proposed fees may have unintended consequences and undermine the desire to stimulate the Bahamian economy.”
