Georgia insurance agents see both competition and opportunity in the coming Affordable Care Act marketplaces, writes Charles Oliver. "The federal exchange, which we will have in Georgia, has indicated it wants to work with brokers to help folks enroll, and I think they see brokers playing a valuable roll in increasing enrollment in the exchanges," said agent Brian Peters. Some details have yet to be addressed by government regulations, and the issue of navigators, who will be available to guide shoppers through the exchanges, poses concerns. Nevertheless, experts say many consumers prefer the unique benefits of working with agents, and that is unlikely to change.
