Results of certain clinical trials must be posted on ClinicalTrials.gov within one year of the last data collection date, but results of only 55% of 646 cancer drug safety and efficacy trials were published online or in a medical journal within three years of the trials' end dates, an analysis published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology found. Only 20% of the results were published either on ClinicalTrials.gov or in an academic journal within one year of trial completion. Industry-sponsored trials were more likely to be in compliance than publicly sponsored or academic trials.
