Voice-recognition applications are on the cusp of becoming a key feature of mobile-banking services, according to industry executives who say that voice will help users navigate the increasingly complicated technology and provide more security. "The challenge is that it is already challenging on a website to incorporate all of this functionality and how do you do it in a graceful way when you shrink it down to a mobile screen," says Gregory Pal of Nuance, a provider of voice-recognition software.
