The Federal Communications Commission should act quickly to allocate 195 MHz of spectrum in the 5 GHz band in order to expand Wi-Fi services, a bipartisan group of four House members -- two Democrat and two Republican -- urged acting FCC Chairman Mignon Clyburn. In a letter, they said the FCC should "proceed expeditiously" with tests of sharing the spectrum, "given the immediate economic and consumer benefits of expanding Wi-Fi in the 5 GHz band."
