British Airways will use its new Dreamliners to add more long-haul destinations using 12 takeoff and landing slots at Heathrow airport. Last year, British Airways got 42 slots when it purchased BMI; it set aside 12 for long-haul trips. "The 787s are ideal for startup routes," said CEO Keith Williams, noting that the routes wouldn't be possible without the fuel-efficient jetliners. The airline will likely eye destinations in Asia.
