China has revived its plan to build a 76.4-mile undersea rail tunnel under the Bohai Strait that will cut the travel distance between the eastern and northeastern regions of the country by 620 miles. It will cost about $42 billion to build the tunnel, which will become the "world's longest undersea tunnel" when completed. Trains will carry passengers, and motorists can have their cars loaded onto rail cars for the journey.
