Columnist Bill McGee, a contributing editor to Consumer Reports, says that the U.S. airline industry should publish a passenger bill of rights. Until then, passengers can keep up to date on each carrier's individual policies. "After booking a flight, search the carrier's website for the Contract of Carriage so you're clear on what to expect if something goes wrong," he writes.
