The operating licenses of Constellation Energy Nuclear Group's three nuclear plants in Maryland and New York will be transferred to Exelon, Exelon and Electricite de France announced. Exelon in 2012 spent about $8 billion to acquire CENG, which is a joint venture between Constellation and EDF. "This consolidation will benefit both Exelon and our partner EDF and allows us to take advantage of additional synergies and streamlining," said Michael Pacilio, Exelon Nuclear's chief nuclear officer.
