The owner of Washington, D.C., restaurant Rasika has filed a lawsuit against former chef Manish Tyagi claiming the chef breached his contract when he took a job at Amber Dhara in San Francisco. The lawsuit further claims that Tyagi used proprietary business secrets from Rasika to get and keep his new job, spurring food writer Paolo Lucchesi to ponder the question of where to draw the line when it comes to carrying over techniques and recipes from one restaurant kitchen to the next.
