You don't necessarily need to build your product to validate the potential of your business idea, writes Steve Blank. All you need to do is create a minimum viable product that proves that customers are interested in what you have to offer. One company, which was interested in applying drone technology to agriculture, discovered it could test its idea by attaching a camera to a rented aircraft -- an approach that was much cheaper than building a model of the actual product, he writes.
