The program -- Bridges to Tomorrow -- is just one example of how assistive technologies are changing learning for students in the district. One Miami school uses iPads and interactive whiteboards to work on communication skills with students with autism who are nonverbal. "They're seeing it. They're touching it. They're hearing it. They're moving," teacher Sonia Lynch said, adding, "It engages all their senses. That's why you have them so involved."
