Executives from GE Capital are touring the country to visit middle-market businesses that might be in need of loans to expand. They are going to cities such as St. Louis, Detroit and Charlotte, N.C., which rank among the top 20 places for middle-market business. "Everybody talks about big business or small business. Nobody talks about the middle market," said Ian Forrest, vice president of global marketing. "This is core to our space."
