A study presented at the ADA 73rd Scientific Sessions revealed group size was not a determining weight-loss factor in high-risk participants who joined a diabetes prevention initiative. Researchers examined 841 participants and found those in the small group arm lost 11.24 pounds, while those in the large group arm lost nearly 13 pounds. Thirty-three percent of patients in the small group arm also attained a 7% weight loss, compared with 39% in the large group arm, researchers said.
