Hotel chains are beginning to extend their digital services beyond bookings to offer other services via mobile. "As mobile continues to become the primary way that consumers make last-minute hotel bookings, brands should look to add features to their mobile applications and Web sites that help consumers once they have booked a room," Lauren Johnson writes. Offerings include site maps and room service as well as loyalty programs, with some individual hotels providing in-room tablets.
