An IDC report says federal agency spending on private-cloud services will expand after fiscal 2014 and will hit about $8 billion by 2017, led by infrastructure-as-a-service demand. The future isn't as rosy for government spending on public-cloud technology, IDC says, although it is expected to increase to $118.3 million in fiscal 2014, compared with $110.4 million in fiscal 2012. Hybrid-cloud spending, IDC predicts, will stay about the same for fiscal 2014 as it was in 2012.
