The number of diagnostic exams, particularly abdominopelvic radiography, MRI and esophagogastroduodenoscopy, conducted on children with inflammatory bowel disease increased 53% from 2001 to 2010, a study showed. However, there was no significant increase in the use of computed tomography and ileocolonoscopy during the study period. The findings appear in the American Journal of Roentgenology.
