The purpose of the Renewable Fuels Standard needs to be defined before it can move ahead, industry executives said during a House subcommittee hearing. "We need to address problems with the blend wall, which is the immediate crisis, and then go back to what we're trying to do," said Jack Gerard, president and CEO of the American Petroleum Institute. "We also need to look at what the overall impact is on the economy, and not just on specific segments," added Charles Drevna, president of American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers.
