LG Display today touted development of a record 2.2-millimeter thick full HD LCD 5.2-inch display panel for smartphones. LG, which offered no details on a commercial rollout for the technology, demonstrated a prototype saying the screen was brighter than existing full HD panels and carried a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, all of which has been verified by a third party. LG touted an in-house invention, "Advanced One-Glass-Solution," that allows more light to come through and is cheaper to produce.
