More people would be willing to donate their eyes after death for research if they knew the option was available, according to Duke University researchers. The study included a survey of about 200 patients. The donation of eyes with defects or illnesses can help researchers find new therapies, Midwest Eye-Banks' Chuck Pivoney said. A majority of patients surveyed were open to signing up through a research registry.
