Manufacturing is again becoming an appealing career choice for young people, said Mars U.K. President Fiona Dawson. As tougher economic times limit job choices, Dawson said younger workers are seeing that food manufacturers are companies "that make tangible products." Mars U.K. uses social media to reach out to younger consumers, who could become employees. "We have increased our numbers of apprentices for many kids in school. Once they start to think about their future an apprenticeship is much more attractive," Dawson said.
