The semiconductor industry faces an uncertain outlook for the remainder of 2013 as it confronts a global economic slowdown and reduced corporate spending, but an increase in demand for mobile connectivity should continue to drive positive gains. That's according to a new assessment from research firm IDC, which predicts that semiconductor manufacturers will enjoy a 6.9% increase in revenue thanks to a double-digit increase in revenue tied to mobile wireless communications.
