The Nebraska-based human resources consultancy Talent Plus allows employees to take as much time off as they wish, requiring only coordination with their managers and arrangements to ensure that necessary work is completed. The Talent Plus policy was in response to a survey that revealed employee unhappiness with the two weeks per year of vacation previously given. Workplace flexibility is shown to increase employee engagement, recruitment and retention, says Lisa Horn of the Society for Human Resource Management's Workplace Flexibility Initiative.
