Researchers at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology are using nanoparticles composed of tiny gold particles and a special liquid resin to create a material called e-skin that is highly sensitive to pressure, temperature and other conditions. The material would allow amputees to experience touch through their prostheses. "The sensor is very stable and can be attached to any surface shape," said Nir Peled of Israel's Sheba Medical Center.
