An astronomer with the SETI Institute in Mountain View, Calif., has discovered a 14th moon orbiting Neptune. Mark Showalter, who studied photographs taken of the planet by the Hubble Space Telescope, estimates that it is 12 miles in diameter and about 65,400 miles from Neptune. The moon, called S/2004 N 1, completes an orbit around Neptune every 23 hours.
