Service providers in North America are ahead of their counterparts in other regions of the world in cloud deployments, according to the chief executive of cloud analytics firm Razorsight. Charlie Thomas says one reason is that North American carriers have largely overcome the fear of the cloud that continues to hamper deployments elsewhere. Service providers in many global markets "have similar concerns to what we used to hear here -- they are worried about proprietary data, both theirs and their customers', being housed in the cloud," he said. "We think they will become more comfortable with it, but there is definitely sensitivity."
