Lawmakers in the House of Representatives need to mull over immigration reform provisions during the monthlong August recess, so it is unlikely the chamber will pass a reform bill before then, President Barack Obama said. Commenting on a path to citizenship, he added, "It does not make sense to me, if we're going to make this once-in-a-generation effort to finally fix the system, to leave the status of 11 million people or so unresolved." House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, does not plan to bring the Senate bill to a floor vote, as the House seeks to tackle immigration with individual measures.
